Ponce's
Mexican Restaurant
Article

Ponce's, a family owned Mexican restaurant, has been serving
the quaint town of Kensington since 1969. And if that doesn't
tell you something, then just ask the locals who frequent the
place on a weekly basis. Don't be surprised to find this place
packed when other eateries nearby are empty. The prices at Ponce's
are designed to keep they're customers coming back.
Ok, so I'm not sure that I would say Ponce's serves the most
authentic Mexican food in San Diego but the food is very well
prepared and I would say that it might be one of the best places
to get a hard shell taco with ground beef. But, don't get me
wrong they do have some great authentic dishes including the
albondigas soup and the guacamole here is fantastic. They have
some excellent appetizers but for that matter, the house salsa
and the complimentary basket of chips are just as good and go
great with one of their Margaritas. They have a full bar and
a long list of Tequila and Mexican beers... they have Happy
Hour everyday from 4pm to 6pm!
Ponce's is a great place for the whole family. The atmosphere
is fun, the service is friendly and the food is so reasonably
great that you'll understand why it has such a loyal following.
Be sure to go on an empty stomach 'cuz just like most Mexican
restaurants the portions are huge and you will often leave with
a doggy bag!
