Even though mining for gold was short lived, Julian's temperate climate and mild four seasons, made it perfect for a new crop... apples. This cozy little mountain town is a prime getaway destination for this year's Fall season.

About an hour's drive northeast of downtown San Diego is where you'll find this quaint little town filled with country charm. As you drive through, look for fresh-picked apples and pears at the orchards and fruit stands from September through Thanksgiving. Many of them sell bulk apples and pears, dried fruit, locally made jams, jellies and honey, cider and nuts.
